Some days, you feel invincible. You're determined to support yourself through any of life's challenges, with no outside help required. At the same time, you're committed to fully supporting those around you–your spouse, your kids, your family, your friends, your community, and your team. All by yourself.
This might work for a while, but before long, you realize why EVERYONE needs a support system outside of themselves.
Unfortunately, it's sometimes not until a moment of crisis that we realize we need that extra support.
Maybe you've accidentally double-booked yourself for the third time this week.
Or you've committed to making cupcakes for your child's school bake sale even though it's during the busiest week of the year for your business.
And you're experiencing that moment of panic as the reality of what you've committed to sets in.
Or maybe your body has started to tell you it needs to rest. You're fatigued. On the brink of exhaustion. In pain. And just plain tired!
Whatever it is that's causing you to feel burnt out, you start to realize that you could support yourself AND others all alone at first, but it's time to quit going it alone.
And if you've been supporting yourself and others alone for all this time, it's no wonder!
We're not meant to go through life alone. Social support is a critical factor in longevity and well-being. (Really! The stats prove it!)
It's time to rid yourself of the mindset that you can do it ALL yourself. No one can.
Yes, not even you, as amazing as you are!
Especially with all the hats and roles you take on.
I know how hard you run in all areas of your life, and how hard it is to let go of some of the control.
But in certain areas it’s so worth exchanging the need for control with someone else completing it for you.
Easier said than done, right?
Maybe you've accepted you need support, but you don't know where to start with asking for and receiving it! Where would be the smartest place to start? What makes the most sense?
Don't worry – I've got the steps you need to take to find the real support YOU need in all areas of your life.
And it starts with your Zone of Genius.
First, allow me to remind you how valuable your time is, all of it. And, it is best not spent on anything outside of your, "Zone of Genius."
Your Zone of Genius is that special ability, technique, or skill only YOU have. It's where you not only excel the most, but where your natural abilities allow you to accomplish with ease.
(This zone is one of four zones outlined in Gay Hendricks' book The Four Zones. Learn more about the Zones and the book here.)
Here's a quick example: you run a restaurant, and interacting with clients, creating menus, and coaching staff is the most enjoyable, effortless, natural part of the work for you.
Bookkeeping, on the other hand? Not so much. Keeping up with the books is outside of your Zone of Genius.
So, getting support with your bookkeeping so you can focus on your Zone of Genius is a great place to start!
It's time, you have earned it. You can’t afford not to. Inhale. Exhale.
Focus on your Zone of Genius: The areas outside of that are the best places to get support. They're where you need help most.
This one will feel like a real miracle!
Once you know WHERE you need support, it's time to determine what TYPE of help would support you most.
Here's how:
I'd love to hear what you came up with when you went through these four points. And if you've decided your business is EXACTLY where you need support, we should talk! Or, click here to learn more about the different ways I can support you.
