The #1 Thing Preventing Your Biz From Growing? (Hint: It’s Not What You Think!)

Uncategorized Apr 13, 2022

What is the one thing preventing your business from growing? Is it a lack of capital? A lack of resources? I see why you might be tempted to say that, but I think the real answer will surprise you...

The #1 Thing Preventing Your Business from Growing is...

The number one thing preventing your business from growing is your own belief system. If you don't believe you're worth a million dollars (or a billion!), then you will never make a million dollars.

So today, let's discuss how to align your sense of self-worth with your business strategy, and how to create a growth mindset for your business.

But first, let's cover some telltale signs you aren't owning your worth:

  • You're having a hard time completing things (your follow-through could use some attention)
  • Doing "all the things" in your business rather than focusing in on what really needs to get done
  • Creating something, then questioning your own ideas
  • Loving the work you do, but being hesitant to share it with anyone
  • Avoiding sales
  • You still haven't figured your "elevator pitch"
  • Allowing feedback to throw you off or relying on it to build you up
  • Copying other's ideas versus listening to your own

If ANY of those bullet points are ringing a bell for you, it's time we talk about what to do next.

After all, when we embody our worthiness, we step into our power. We become unshakeable. We attract clients and opportunities that reflect our new level of confidence. Our businesses begin to grow because we are finally aligned with our true purpose and worth.

Owning Your Worth

Keep in mind, however, there is no one quick fix. But with commitment, this can be built, and you can become invincible over time.

Identify the pattern

One of the first and most helpful steps is to identify the pattern or patterns that are in your way. You can often find this clarity by speaking with a friend, a business coach, or a therapist about it. Often, bouncing your ideas and just speaking your ideas out loud to someone else will provide you with the powerful insight you might not find on your own.

Identify a new "I am"

Once you've identified these patterns, it's time to make a conscious choice to embody a new way of being. One of my favourite ways to do this is with your "I am" statement. (Read more about Soul's Power statements in this post)

Your "I am" statement is a declaration of who you are at your core. It is a way to set an intention for how you want to show up in the world and in your business.

For example, "I am abundant," "I am worthy," or "I am love."

Choose one that feels true for you in this moment and repeat it to yourself daily, especially when you catch yourself slipping into old patterns.

You can also use it as a mantra during meditation or any time you need a reminder of who you really are.

Practice sharing (or selling more)

When you are ready to really dive in, it's time to start getting uncomfortable! For many business owners, this means practicing sharing your gifts or selling more. As uncomfortable as these things can be, it's often where you'll find the most growth in your business. And the more you do? The better it feels!

Of course, my Soulful Leadership helps too! This program, built with entrepreneurs like you in mind, addresses your challenges, and builds you up, from the ground up.

It starts with tuning into what your soul is whispering, and it not only invites you, but teaches you, how to live, love, and lead from the inside out.
