Creating Your Own Soulful Activation Practice

Christmas might have just passed, but that doesn't mean it's time for the gift giving to stop! Today, I'm so excited to share with you the tools you need to create a soulful activation practice for yourself. 

Before we get into the details, I know what you're thinking...

"What is a Soulful Activation Practice?"

A soulful activation practice is the daily practice of connecting to your highest self, centering yourself from this place, and activating your innate power, intelligence, vitality.

In just a few minutes, a soulful activation practice has the power to alter your state for the better...and if you've been on the blog before, you know just how important that is! If you're new, start with this post to read about why your state matters so much AND how to raise your vibration. 

Ideally, a soulful activation practice is one that's meant to be done daily, for a minimum of five minutes, and up to one hour. Once you are ready to step into consistent practice, 15-20 minutes is a great place to aim for.

Everyone's perfect soulful activation practice will look a little different than the next person. But today I'm sharing the anatomy of the practice so you can design yours according to what serves you best.

The Anatomy of a Soulful Activation Practice

Opening

During the opening of your soulful activation practice, focus on making a connection with your innate power, intelligence, and vitality. 

Here's how: 

  • Rub your hands together, then open them and feel the energy between them
  • Continue to hold the energy there or place your hands where that energy is needed.

Breath practice of choice

G.I.V.E.

  • G - Gratitude: Focus on all of the things you can appreciate
  • I - Intention & "I am": Listen for your deepest Intention & "I am"
  • V- Vision: What is the vision you see, what is it without and with
  • E- Enthusiasm: Connect with the feeling you experience from your Gratitude, "I am", and Vision....trusting it has already come to be.

The Soulful Activation Breathwork Practices

Breathwork #1: The Double Inhale

I promised you one of my favourite breathwork practices, and here it is! I've even included a simple and expanded version to help you get started. 

The Technique

Simple: Each breath is 2 inhales, and 1 exhale

  • The mouth is open on the inhale and exhale
  • 30 times, then hold (approximately 10-30 seconds)
  • Repeat 3 times

Expanded: Each breath is 2 inhales, and 1 exhale

  • The mouth is open on the inhale and exhale
  • Expand on the inhales, let go on the exhale
  • The inhale and exhale are connected with no pause
  • The belly expands on the inhale naturally (don’t force or exaggerate) belly relaxes on the exhale
  • 30 times, then hold your breath (approximately 10-30 seconds)
  • On the holding of your breath, imagine the energy starting at the base of your spine moving up and concentrating, even spiralling at your third eye, space between your eyes.
  • Repeat three times
