If you're like most entrepreneurs, you feel like you never have enough time. You're always rushing to get things done, and you never seem to have a moment to yourself. This can be incredibly frustrating and overwhelming. How can you possibly get everything done when there are only 24 hours in a day? The answer is to learn how to prioritize what's important.
In this blog post, we will discuss some tips for managing your time effectively and prioritizing the tasks that are most important to you!
You can’t start prioritizing what’s important until you’re clear on what’s important! To do that, make a list of your priorities.
This can be anything from the things you need to do today to the goals you want to achieve in the future. Start by writing down everything that's important to you, and then rank them in order of priority.
When you're working on a task, set a timer for a period of time (30 minutes, for example) and...
What is the one thing preventing your business from growing? Is it a lack of capital? A lack of resources? I see why you might be tempted to say that, but I think the real answer will surprise you...
The number one thing preventing your business from growing is your own belief system. If you don't believe you're worth a million dollars (or a billion!), then you will never make a million dollars.
So today, let's discuss how to align your sense of self-worth with your business strategy, and how to create a growth mindset for your business.
But first, let's cover some telltale signs you aren't owning your worth:
Time sucks are those things you spend time on that might not be the best or most productive use of your time. Of course, we don't need to be busy or productive all the time. In fact, that's not the best use of our time either. But for most of us, there are a number of things we do each day or most days that we don't realize take up as much of our time as they do. A great example? Mindless scrolling on social media apps.
While social media is a popular one, everyone has different time sucks. Today, we're going to talk about three other big time sucks you might be dealing with, as well as what you can do about them.
Here’s the thing about multitasking: rather than helping you get multiple things done in a shorter time frame, it usually means completing things to a lesser quality, and not even that much quicker than if you devoted your efforts to one task at a time.
In fact, a number of studies show that...
Entrepreneurship is all about execution. Starting an idea and bringing it to market can take months or years, but most entrepreneurs never achieve commercial success because they run out of time before realizing their vision. Although most people will tell you that money is the most valuable resource for entrepreneurs, this doesn't necessarily hold true anymore.
As a (multiple) startup founder myself, I often say time is the most valuable resource for entrepreneurs.
Here's why.
Time is the most valuable resource for entrepreneurs because it takes time to grow your idea into a successful business. As most startups can attest, ideas are simple and execution is hard——no amount of money will make your business a long-term success without proper execution.
Not only can most businesses be started with little-to-no capital, but even if more capital is required, most acquired early-stage companies fail to...
If the words “time audit” caught your attention, that could be your first sign this is something to consider doing for your own life and in your own business. And what exactly is a time audit, you ask? It’s an “audit” of exactly where you spend/invest your time.
When you perform a time audit, you’ll learn things like where you’re spending most of your time, where you could potentially save time, and what areas of your life could use more time and attention spent on them. Another powerful benefit of performing one of these audits is their ability to help you reframe your beliefs about time.
Rather than telling yourself there simply aren’t enough hours in the day…you can reframe this thought pattern when you see exactly how you spend your time and that it’s an illusion in many ways!
Let’s use a daily meditation practice as an example. Right...
Over here on the Business in Alignment blog, we talk a lot about what it means to be a leader. Or, more specifically, to be a soulful leader. And today, that tradition continues as we're going to talk all about the habits the most successful entrepreneurs have.
So let’s dive into how to really lead as an entrepreneur, beginning with these five habits to form to be a successful entrepreneurial leader.
Successful entrepreneurs use this clarity to their advantage, utilizing it as a compass that guides their life and their business. Then, when you make decisions based off of this vision, your decisions are going to align with who you are as a business leader.
In a recent post about the seven characteristics of a soulful leader, I talk about why being clear is one of the seven Cs of successful leadership:
“They are clear on their purpose, the impact they wish to be making in...
Let me tell you something you already know: we’re living in extraordinary times. And at times like these, we need extraordinary leaders. And now for something you might not be as sure of: You’re one of those extraordinary leaders! It's true. You were born for this, and now is the time to take the reins of your life and become the leader you’re meant to be.
I know you’re here, reading these words, for a very important reason. Whether your inner voice has been whispering, saying it, or screaming it for some time now, you know you’re a leader. And I know it too! I also know you have a powerful, brilliant perspective we are ready to hear.
So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to take action!
Here are some steps you can take today on your journey to becoming the leader you were born to be.
Before...
What does leadership really mean to you? Chances are, there are leaders all around you, whether you see them on the news or you interact with them on a daily basis. But the ways these people lead might not always resonate with you. In fact, what they think is leadership is something entirely different to you. So today, I invite you to examine what leadership really is.
What does it mean to you? To help you create your own definition of this term, I want to share three characteristics I believe make a good leader.
A great leader doesn’t just lead others. They lead themselves just as fiercely and as gracefully as they navigate life guided by their own “inner voice” and the inner knowing we’re all equipped with. Often, what makes a leader truly great is the ability to actually tap into this inner knowing.
Rather than accepting you “don’t have what it takes” or you don’t have that...
It seems like just yesterday we were talking about looking back on 2020 with my year in review process. Now, with 2022 fast approaching, it’s time to look back on 2021!
This year, like any year, it’s incredibly important to look back on “find the gold” in the past year. To do so, you need to ask yourself thought-provoking and soul-searching questions that help you uncover the best of yourself and your accomplishments.
(There are all kinds of benefits to completing this process at the end of each year. Learn more about them in this post)
If you completed this process last year, I encourage you to revisit your answers from 2020. Then, as you fill out your 2021 Year in Review, you’ll see just how far you’ve come.
Many of us faced more challenges than ever before in 2021. At first thought, you might be telling yourself you didn’t accomplish all that much this year. But I assure you that’s not true! There’s all kinds...
